The shape that started it all. What else can one say? The Ferrari 166 MM Barchetta, by Carrozzeria Touring is one of the absolute landmarks in modern automobile evolution, following designer Felice Bianchi Anderloni's dictum "weight is the enemy, and wind the obstacle". From 1948 onward, the Barchetta, or little boat would gain worldwide notoriety with racing victories at Le Mans, Spa, and the Mille Miglia. It was the first automobile to give fledgling constructor Ferrari a recognizable face to present to the world, and the rest, as they say, is history. Along with its Aston Martin DBR-1, Creative Miniature Associates has produced an elegant, limited-availability tribute to this seminal Ferrari. The hand-polished aluminum surface of this sculpture allows the viewer to concentrate on the purity of form without the distraction of minutiae. This piece is successful as a stand alone artwork, or as a neutral complement to more highly detailed models. Sculpture is signed and numbered, with informational plaque mounted on standard black and walnut base. All-black Lucite base is available on request. Limited production to only 50 pieces worldwide. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.
