Mercedes Benz has always employed specially modified trucks to ferry its racing cars to the various European circuits. As the company emerged from World War Two, racing manager Alfred Neubauer demanded a more rapid method to deploy his cars. What was initially utilitarian in nature became a rolling work of art. A Mercedes 300 chassis and engine were incorporated in the new design which became road worthy in 1954. The vehicle was quite aerodynamic and stable, capable of what we might consider hefty highway speeds even today. Painted text on the vehicle's rear fender exhorts the driver 'Max. Speed 105 mph'! It remains to this day the fastest racing transporter in history.

CMC has done an outstanding job of reproducing this fabulous Mercedes. The model is impressive, at 15 inches in length, and features a fully detailed and upholstered crew compartment, stainless steel bed and loading ramps, and centrally mounted engine. This model is new in box, no longer produced, and looks great paired with one of our W196 Streamliners.
