Chopard, founded in 1860, is one of Switzerland's most renowned watch manufacturers. In 1988, the company partnered with the Mille Miglia Historica (thousand mile) governing body to produce a commemorative series of sporting watches based on the famous Brescia-Rome-Brescia race. This Mille Miglia Monopusher chronograph is mounted on a fine Chopard black leather band with white stitching and a Chopard tang buckle. Stainless steel with 18k gold bezel, crown and pusher, the Mille Miglia logo is engraved on the bezel and filled with red pigment, as are the seconds indicators around the perimeter. White dial with applied gold hour markers, date aperture at 3 o'clock position, luminous blued steel hands, and 30 minute chrono counter at 6 o'clock position. Sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and Mille Miglia curved arrows in red on face and minute subdial. The screw down back still retains its original plastic protective film. Water resistant to 30 meters. Very minor scratching on bezel not unusual in pre-owned timepiece. Recently serviced and adjusted. A classic, rare watch at an affordable price. Chopard model number 16/8142. Case diameter 33.5mm.
