The makers of the recent film "Pearl Harbor" needed authentic military-issue timepieces for the cast members, so a request was placed to Hamilton Watch Co. to reprise their famous Khaki officers watch from the early 1940's. They responded by creating a modern version of the vintage watches repowered by a quartz movement. This particular watch however, is a member of a far more select breed. Issued in a limited run of only 3333 worldwide, this special Pearl Harbor edition features a Swiss ETA hand- wound mechanical movement which is an updated form of the original mechanism. The case is a beautiful sand blasted stainless steel, and the crown is a hack type which allows the second hand to be stopped for synchronization between watches. The black dial has an inner 24 hour ring, a mid 12 hour ring, and an outer 60 second ring. The date aperture appears at the 3 o'clock position. The case opposite the crown is etched with the edition number (726/3333), and the crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire. The dial has white, luminous hands and hour markers and the leather strap and buckle are signed Hamilton. The original plastic protective film protection is still on the crystal and back of this virtually new, unworn timepiece. Face is inscribed Hamilton Khaki Mechanical Limited Edition. Supplied with original black outer box, inner wooden presentation box, certificate of authenticity, and instruction manual. Case size is 42mm including crown. A fine, rare and affordable timepiece for the knowledgeable collector.
