Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe Exoto 1:18 Scale

From its meticulously detailed interior to the fabulous engine bay, this 1964 Daytona Coupe packs custom-built features into a value-priced model.

Depicting the Reims 12 Hour racer piloted by bob Bondurant and Dan Gurney, Exoto has lavished incredible attention to detail and correctness. With everything opening, this model stands up well to close scrutiny. Under the hood, all the plumbing and wiring is there, including minute chains which hold the hood open, as well as appropriate size screening which covers the cooling vents. Exquisite photo-etch grids replicate radiator inlets and outlets perfectly. Among the interior's standout features are the shift lever boot's chrome surround, legible instrumentation and fire bottle. The opening rear deck lid is highlighted with simulated rivets, while the spare tire is secured by multistrand cables. Roundel illumination lights are present, as is the passenger side green night time identification lamp. Last but not least is the Car and Driver-inspired Dan Gurney for President sticker affixed to the rear quarter panels. He's a candidate that certainly would have gotten my vote!

As this piece is from a large private collection, the original packing materials are long gone. The Daytona coupe displays incredibly well both open or closed.
