Mercedes W196 Streamliner CMC 1:18 Scale SPECIAL OFFER
$300.00
In 1954 Mercedes Benz debuted its Grand Prix racer, the W196, incorporating an envelope 'streamlined' body. On long, high speed circuits, the Mercedes was nearly invincible, but it was outmaneuvered on the twistier European tracks. Thus, a second W196 was designed with open-wheel configuration, and subsequently won the World Championship for Mercedes and Fangio. The W196 was the direct forbear of the all-conquering Mercedes 300 SLR and is undoubtedly one of the loveliest and most interesting F1 cars in history. Our model is new in the box, and features plain bodywork without racing numerals.
